Where is the work: SERVICE TECHNICIAN – JOB DESCRIPTION A Service Technician is an experienced field professional responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. This role typically includes a mix of hands‑on technical work, customer interaction, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring high‑quality service delivery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform advanced diagnostics on HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems. * Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures using technical expertise and manufacturer guidelines. * Conduct preventive maintenance to improve system performance and reduce downtime. * Install, commission, and test new equipment or system upgrades. * Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior or apprentice technicians. * Document service activities, including parts used, work performed, and recommendations. * Maintain strong customer relationships, explaining findings and solutions professionally. * Interpret schematics and technical manuals for complex systems. * Ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and company standards. * Recommend system improvements or replacement solutions based on customer needs. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS * Extensive hands‑on field experience in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical service, or a related trade. * Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems. * Technical certifications (HVAC licenses) depending on region. * Strong communication and customer‑service skills. * Proficiency with service tools, diagnostic equipment, and digital work order systems.
