RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS Deliver process engineering elements of projects, ensuring they are completed in the most cost and time efficient manner whilst adhering to quality and safety standards. Review project specifications, identifying the process engineering component of a project. Establish process design parameters and assumptions. Production of: Project Design Basis Memorandums (DBM), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Material Balances, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Shutdown Key, and Process Manuals. Conceptual design & process feasibility studies to provide: detailed calculations, specifications of equipment, and reviewing/checking engineering drawings. Ensure engineering quality control and quality assurance of production work. Work with the project team to design and configure facility layouts with respect to applicable codes, standards and best industry practices. Strong ability to motivate team members, resolve interpersonal issues and achieve results. Ability to lead, coach and mentor junior personnel. Providing additional assistance in Engineering & Project Management as needed. ACCOUNTABILITIES Meeting deadlines on time within the highly demanding, fast-paced oil & gas environment. Ensuring timely completion of project goals within budget and in accordance with quality standards and customer needs and expectations. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Post-Secondary Education / Designation - PEng Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 10+ years’ experience working on the process design of engineering projects, preferably within the oil and gas industry Extensive gas processing experience Experience dealing with midstream hydraulics Previous work experience in an EPCM environment KNOWLEDGE BASE REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of Microsoft suite software and Internet applications, and VMGSim, HYSYS or UNISIM. In-depth knowledge of applicable codes/standards, equipment requirements and specifications. Good understanding of common processes in the oil and gas industry. In-depth knowledge of discipline-specific equipment and materials. Working knowledge of industry related analysis and design software. In-depth knowledge of other disciplines and the interface requirements. Understanding of clients’ business and related processes to provide quality solutions quickly and efficiently. Requirements
Requires a PEng degree in Chemical or Process Engineering with over 10 years of experience, specifically in gas processing and midstream hydraulics. Proficiency in VMGSim, HYSYS, or UNISIM and experience in an EPCM environment are required.
