Qualifications: An integral member of the Diagnostic Imaging department, MRI technologist responsibilities include: performing MRI exams as outlined in the MRI procedure manual; operating ,trouble shooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner; completing all clerical aspects of exam completion; training of students and new technologists; continuing education as required by associations and needs of department; all patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care; observing and understanding hospital visions and values of teamwork, integrity, excellence, customer-focus and innovation while maintaining patient confidentiality; performing cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested; performing other duties related to the job classification, as required. Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures as outlined in MRI procedure Manual; * Utilizes technical/medical judgement/knowledge to evaluate image quality, and adjusts accordingly; * Ensures proper screening procedure for patient and anyone else entering magnet room; * Assess the patient’s condition prior to, during, and after procedures; maintains awareness of procedural complications and reactions during and after procedures; recognizes the conditions requiring immediate attention and initiates appropriate response; documents procedures to ensure precise and accurate procedural records are maintained; * Performs other duties as required. Job Requirements: * Completion of MRI Certification Exam required; * Contrast injection course, required; * Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO) required; * Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist (CAMRT) asset; * Experience with Siemens MRI considered an asset. The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures and ensuring medical imaging equipment is operating effectively. They also provide direct patient care, assess patient conditions, and maintain accurate procedural records.

Candidates must hold an MRI Certification and be registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). A contrast injection course is required, and experience with Siemens MRI equipment is considered an asset.
