With the opening of a new cohort at our Agassiz campus for the Medical Laboratory Assistant program, Western Community College (WCC) invites applications from eligible and experienced MLT candidates for the position of Lab Instructor for this program. Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) - Instructor for MLA Program Responsibilities: Participate in the development of curriculum as per the BCSLS Competencies for Med Lab Assistants. Provide excellent learning and teaching experiences for students Participate in the academic progress of students through constant evaluation and feedback Collaborate with stakeholders to support a high-quality learning environment. Contribute to and support a healthy, collegial, and scholarly work environment through professional practice and professional development. Qualifications: For teaching Laboratory Sections: Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) in good standing with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), with demonstrated experience working in a laboratory setting (at least 2 years of recent work experience in the field, preferably with teaching experience). Job Type: Casual position. The instructor will be required to teach each lab session for every cohort. The course schedule may be adjusted based on the instructor’s availability. Work Location: In person - Agassiz Campus Expected Start Date- August 2026

Requirements

Candidates must be certified Medical Laboratory Technologists in good standing with the CSMLS and have at least 2 years of recent laboratory experience, preferably with teaching experience. The position requires participation in curriculum development and student evaluation.
