We have immediate openings for Dryside Weekend Millwrights in Grande Prairie Lumber. The successful individual will report to the Dryside Maintenance Team Leader. Expectations for the role involve a combination of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, technical skill development, and adaptability to business needs. Key responsibilities include: -Preventative/Proactive Maintenance: Ensure equipment runs smoothly and efficiently by performing regular maintenance tasks. -Corrective Repairs: Address and fix equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime. -Technical Training: Participate in training as needed to maintain and improve technical proficiency. -Clean-Up Duties: Maintain a clean and safe work environment. -Support Reliability Improvements: Contribute to improving equipment reliability and Mill efficiency. -Flexibility: Adapt to evolving business needs and priorities. -Apprenticeship: Actively participate in the apprenticeship program for skill development and trade certification. Qualifications and Competencies: -Be a Registered Journeyperson Millwright and have Journeyperson Certification. -High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). -Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning. -Computer skills, particularly in SAP, and the ability to achieve competency in Process Logic Control (PLC) systems. -Problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. -Experience or aptitude for equipment operations. Physical and Organizational Requirements: -Ability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods. -Willingness to interface and collaborate with other trades, support groups, and resources (e.g., Electrical/Mechanical, Reliability, Process Controls, Operations). -Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment. -Ability to work Full time Weekend Maintenance coverage. Preference Will Be Given To: -Candidates with a strong knowledge of Grande Prairie Lumber operations. -Proven technical and leadership skills. The Journeyman Millwright is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime. They will also participate in technical training, support reliability improvements, and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Candidates must be a Registered Journeyperson Millwright with a high school diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work full-time weekend shifts are required.
