This role in summary Whirlpool Canada is currently seeking a candidate for the role of Appliance Technician – All Regions British Columbia, Canada Alberta, Canada Saskatchewan, Canada Manitoba Ontario, Canada Quebec Quebec City, QC, CA This role will be responsible for delivering exceptional consumer experience in the homes of our customers, including performing technical diagnosis, repair and installation of all kitchen and laundry appliances including but not limited to washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, microwave ovens. Whirlpool Canada is the number one supplier of small and major home appliances, selling products under major brands that include Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air. Whirlpool Canada’s head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario. Your responsibilities will include Diagnose concerns by interpreting the customer’s observations and determine proper solutions or repair and access manufacturers' service manuals and bulletins and use specialized tools and testing devices to locate the issue(s) Maintain appliances by disassembling, cleaning internal parts, replacing faulty or worn parts, reassembling and testing. Ensure any installations that require connections to water, electrical or gas lines are completed correctly and in accordance with the installation instructions of the product. Use business management software to manage service calls Follow company processes as per service Standard Operating Procedures Proficient oral and written communication skills in English, French A valid driver’s license with a good driving record Lift upwards of 55lbs and complete labor required daily Minimum requirements High School Diploma or GED 1+ years of experience in the appliance repair field or other service industry (i.e. telecommunication, electrical, HVAC, maintenance) Preferred skills and experiences Appliance Service Technician Red Seal Certificate (or in process of acquiring / registered as journeyman apprentice ) Have formal technical training in appliance repair Knowledgeable and comfortable in using a tablet/laptop computers Familiarity with mobile technology and applications Adaptable to change and strong communication and teamwork skills, organizational, and customer service skills Comfortable with Google Software and Applications (Google sheets, docs, slides) or equivalent Highly developed organizational, and customer service skills Results-driven with proven trouble-shooting and problem-solving Ability to read, comprehend, and where necessary complete items including a blueprint, electrical schematic, operating and maintenance manuals, work order, repair parts request, standard and metric tape measure, and other measuring equipment including a micrometer, a caliper, a scale, and a VOM (Volt/OHM Meter) The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,000 - $70,000. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant skills, professional experience, and specific educational background and certifications.
