Job summary

Winpak is seeking a Mechanic/Millwright/Machinist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to support our Maintenance Team Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic/Millwright/Machinist plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production and facility equipment. This position involves installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting scheduled and emergency maintenance needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Safely and efficiently install, modify, and replace machinery and parts. * Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work layouts. * Collaborate closely with mechanics, electrical technicians, and engineers. * Manage spare parts inventory and order replacements as per company procedures. * Maintain and operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and cutting tools. * Support scheduled shutdowns, shift work, and overtime as required to ensure equipment maintenance. Participate in weekend on-call rotation and respond promptly to call-backs. * Accurately complete all required documentation, including daily time sheets and callback reports. * Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with additional tasks as needed. * Foster teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication across departments, supporting Winpak’s TQI program. * Carry out responsibilities in compliance with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards. * Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent required. * Millwright/Industrial Mechanic Red Seal Certification required. * 2+ years' experience working is a Maintenace shop * Skilled in the operation of lathes and milling machines. * Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. * Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and practices. * A combination of relevant education, experience, knowledge, and skills will also be considered. Additional Information: * This position is 100% onsite located in Murray Industrial Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. * There is limited bus access to this location. * Dual-ticketed candidates will be considered for higher compensation.
