Job summary

Position Summary Reporting to the Housing Maintenance Foreman, the Housing Maintenance Technician provides hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services across YKDFN housing units. This role focuses on plumbing, boilers, heating systems, and mechanical maintenance, while also supporting general building repairs and preventative maintenance. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain plumbing, boilers, furnaces, and heating systems Complete general carpentry and building repairs Carry out minor electrical and appliance maintenance Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections Complete work orders and maintenance records using the CMMS Provide respectful, professional service to community members Qualifications Journeyman certification in a related trade or equivalent experience Minimum three (3) years of residential maintenance experience Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence Ability to work on-call and respond to emergencies Experience working with a First Nation organization considered an asset Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check required What We Offer Starting wage of $48.93 per hour, Northern Travel Allowance, comprehensive group insurance and pension benefits, and a supportive, culturally respectful work environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Journeyman certification in a related trade or equivalent experience and at least three years of residential maintenance experience. A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
