Job summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician plays a key role in ensuring that all products manufactured by Brockmann’s Chocolates meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. This position involves daily monitoring of production lines, conducting inspections, collecting samples, performing tests, and maintaining accurate records to support our food safety and quality assurance programs. Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and verify compliance with HACCP and other food safety protocols. Perform sensory evaluations, weight checks, and physical and chemical tests as required. Accurately document quality data and communicate findings to the QA Manager and production team. Assist in investigating product non-conformities and implementing corrective actions. Maintain cleanliness and calibration of lab equipment and tools. Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper documentation and following established procedures. Ensure adherence to GMPs, SOPs, food safety regulations, and company policies. Communicate effectively with production, sanitation, maintenance, and QA departments to resolve quality issues in real time. Ensure accuracy and up-to-date records of recipes and nutritional information. Other duties or assignments that may be required Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in quality control or assurance within a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations (CFIA, FDA, SQF/) Strong attention to detail, with excellent observational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work flexible hours and rotating shifts, if required.
