Apprentice Welder

Prolium is the leader in above ground storage tank maintenance. When it comes to storage tanks, we do it all from minor repairs and modifications to major tank upgrades. We are currently seeking 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year welding apprentices who are willing to work throughout Western Canada.

Duties:

• Fabricating and welding (SMAW) of tank components to the highest of industry standards
• Out of position welding (SMAW)
• General jobsite support
• Reading and understanding drawings and blueprints
• Use of various tools and equipment under supervision (grinders, hydraulic jacks, etc.)
• General work with steel (grinding, buffing, oxy-acetylene use etc.)
• Working alongside journeyman welders
• Participate in all daily toolboxes and safety meetings
• Working with the team to ensure a quality product is delivered.
• Must be physically fit and able to safely lift 50 lbs
• The work may require you to enter confined spaces and work at heights

Safety Certification Requirements: (safety certification and training can be provided to successful applicants)

• H2S alive or awareness
• Confined space entry and monitor/or rescue
• CSTS 2020/WHMIS 2015
• Valid Apprenticeship documentation
• CSA Steel toed boots required. All other PPE is provided.

• Employment is contingent on successful completion of welder's qualification test (ASME IX)

• Must provide proof of completion of all required safety certifications
• Must successfully complete a welder's qualification test (ASME IX)

• Participate with the team to build and maintain a productive and safe work environment.

This is seasonal, project-based work. Project duration ranges from 1- 6months. Prolium Industries Ltd. completes projects in all provinces and territories within Canada.
