Forest Technologist


The Work:

  • Working primarily on oil & gas pre-disturbance site assessments of timber, vegetation, wetlands, watercourses, wildlife, and soils.
  • Opportunity to work on a variety of civil construction & infrastructure projects.


What you bring to the table:.

  • Wanting to call the outdoors 'your office'
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of field experience.
  • Technically strong in the areas of timber, vegetation, wetlands, watercourses, wildlife and soils data collection.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as creek setbacks, use of existing disturbances, environmental mitigation, etc.
  • Experience on construction sites, erosion and sediment control, road building, culvert installations, considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Interest in becoming an RPFT.
  • Valid first aid, bear aware and other safety certifications is considered an asset.
  • Experience with ATVs, pulling trailers, and working in remote areas with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable 4x4 Vehicle considered an asset.
  • Drone operator certificate considered an asset.


The Workplace:

  • This is primarily a field position, which requires considerable time working in remote areas. Typical schedule is 4-5 days per week with occasional work on weekends. Potential for advancement and exposure to a wide variety of environmental projects for the right individual.
