What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Report to the Mechanical/Electrical Manager or Project Manager, demonstrating the ability to work independently on projects from start to completion.
  • Act as a primary contact with client project managers to define project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the firm's engineering quality standards for assigned projects.
  • Oversee design concept development by Designers and ensure accurate application and execution.
  • Maintain work quality by meticulously evaluating Designer's output, including specifications, code compliance, submittal reviews, and equipment selection.
  • Guide the design team in developing the Basis of Design (BOD), Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), and Construction Documents (CD) to align with project requirements, schedule, budget, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and foster the growth of designer-level staff.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables for multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Apply risk management practices to all projects.
  • Write studies and reports on mechanical system work.
  • Contribute to the revision of EXP's design standards and master specifications.

What your experience looks like

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with a valid license.
  • 5-15 years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) products.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software.
  • Strong AutoCAD experience is required, and proficiency in REVIT MEP is considered an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
