We are looking for an enthusiastic, multitasker, collaborator to join our Finance team in a 12-month fixed term Project Advisor role. This position reports to the Director, Settlement, Credit & Business Planning.

The Project Advisor will work closely with workstream leads from different disciplines in the organization and the Strategic Integration and the Transformation Implementation Steering Committee (TISC) to develop and administer key reporting on the Transition Implementation Initiatives. They will coordinate and communicate concise, fit for purpose information to multiple levels of the organization regarding decisions, delivery status, milestones, risks, interdependencies, and resourcing, to enable visibility and informed decision making across the organization.

This is a 12-month fixed term role with a possibility of extension. The target hire date is May 2024.

In a fixed term role, you will be eligible for paid vacation time, 4 fixed day offs per year, and health & dental benefits, as part of your overall compensation package. We support a hybrid work environment, where the team is in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are flexible for where you work best.

Key accountabilities include but not limited to:

  • Act as liaison for the transition support functions related to the Transformation Project.

  • Work with division leads, project managers and Strategic Integration to align on consistent systems, reporting and key definitions; providing training, tools, and support as determined necessary.

  • Develop the minimum common project tracking standards and support creation of a consolidated view of key milestone tracking and interdependencies for the AESO transformation initiatives.

  • Facilitate the development of desired metrics, reporting and dashboards to ensure real-time information is available to the organization and facilitate the compilation and communication of updates, ensuring input from designated stakeholders.

  • Report on risk registers, resource utilization, delivery status and changes in schedule and scope, including those identified on a critical path (impact to final timing) to enable fulsome discussions and alignment at the TISC.

  • Establish minimum required decision documentation and repository of these decisions.

  • Responsible for documenting and reporting changes from the meetings with TISC AND
    Executive Leadership Team (ELT).

  • Provide day-to-day support, including status updates for the Transition Implementation Initiatives, as considered necessary.

What you’ll bring to us:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or other related field.

  • Program or Project Management certification or working towards PgMP or PMP beneficial.

  • 5+ years program/project management support experience; preferably in the electricity industry, and experience coordinating and reporting full project lifecycles.

  • Passion, creativity, accountability, teamwork, cross-organization collaboration, and pro-activeness with the ability to lead through influencing and consensus building are must haves.

  • Ability to balance competing demands.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and an environment of change.

  • Strong ability to collaborate with various teams and at all levels within the organization.

  • Strong communication skills for presentation to all levels of the organization.
