Your future role on our team

  • Carry out engineering projects in various capacities based on protection and control system standards
  • Serve in various roles, including project, proposal and site work leader.
  • Develop and implement protection and SCADA systems for substation projects.
  • Configure and provide expertise in different protection systems and concepts.
  • Provide protection system support for clients remotely or onsite.
  • Develop commission protection and control systems on site and within the BBA digital power systems lab.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma (technologist) in one of the following areas: electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, automated production engineering, telecommunications or network administration or any other relevant training
  • Knowledge and use of different standard protocols like DNP3, Modbus and IEC 61850 within industrial or utility applications
  • Available to travel to our BBA offices across Canada
  • Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client sites in Canada
  • Asset: Bilingual (English and French)
  • Asset: Experience in power control systems for generation and renewable energy sectors
  • Asset: Operational and brownfield experience with industrial and utility systems
  • Asset: Knowledge of the IEC 61850 standard and the PRP, PTP, SNTP, MMS, GOOSE and SV communication standards.

  • Annual base salary, based on 37.5 hours weekly, between $100 800 to $160 000
