We are seeking top-tier talent to join our Corporate Services team and support our construction operations by applying your expertise to various Corporate Services business initiatives. About the Role:

Reporting to our Senior Risk Manager, the Subcontractor Prequalification Risk Manager will oversee all aspects the prequalification process to ensure that subcontractors that have the proper experience and financial capabilities to successfully perform work on our projects.

As a Risk Manager at Graham, you will:

  • Complete Subcontractor Risk Assessments - You will be responsible for completing risk assessments to ensure that subcontractors have adequate financial resources, experience and operational capacity while ensuring that prequalification compliance standards are met prior to the award of any subcontract. You will also be a key resource in helping project teams develop effective subcontractor management plans to mitigate the risk of subcontractor defaults.
  • Assist in Managing our Subcontractor Default Insurance Program - You will assist in the management, placement and administration of Graham's subcontractor default insurance program and project specific policy placements as required. This includes supporting with the gathering, analysis and preparation of all annual renewal submission packages. You will be responsible for ensuring that subcontractor prequalification and approvals are completed in strict accordance with the program requirements.You will support with subcontractor default insurance claims as necessary including ensuring adherence to policy notice requirements and coordinating with internal and external legal counsel, brokers and insurers.
  • Driving Risk Management Best Practice
    You will be expected to develop, maintain and promote sound risk management policies and procedures to ensure that we have a systematic and comprehensive approach to mitigate subcontractor default risk that is applied consistently throughout each of our operating groups.You will be responsible for leading annual and ad hoc training sessions with our operations stakeholder groups which will require travel as needed.

You will support all Risk team goals and KPI's to ensure the team's overall success.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in risk management, credit management, accounting, finance or other business-related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a risk management, surety underwriting, construction, commercial management or supply chain management role
  • CRM professional designation an asset
  • Construction industry experience an asset
  • Superior attention to detail with the ability to maintain standards of accuracy under tight deadlines
  • Strong public speaking skills and experience training small and medium groups
  • Highly developed interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis
  • Passion for process improvement and quality control regarding work activities and objectives
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel to all districts across Canada and the United States annually and more frequently as required
