Job Summary:

In the role of Senior Project Manager CT/PP, you will report to the Materials Manager, and will be responsible for strategic planning, directing, and coordination of project management activities. The Senior Project Manager CT/PP is responsible for duties relating to internal controls including safe guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the project team to ensure the on-time deliveries of all orders at the lowest cost.
  • Responsible to ensure project management group is appropriately planning, organizing, motivating, and directing resources to achieve company project goals. Ultimately while managing constraints, tracking budgets, monitoring schedules, and ensuring scope has been met.
  • Assist with problems encountered as needed and Interface with all levels of the company to ensure production objectives are met
  • Understand each project scope and budgetary requirements; through attending kick off, pre/post assembly meetings.
  • Distribute project workload amongst project managers based on availability, experience and customer consistency if possible. While allocating a level of projects to yourself to remain in a supporting role for the department.
  • Work with project team on project plan definition and execution, including WBS tasks and subtasks, Budgets, Schedules, milestones, and deliverables, Contracts and contract modifications, Reports/communications with the customer, vendors, staff, and management, including project status, change orders, issues, and corresponding solutions and action plans.
  • Ensures all project performance is appropriately tracked, documented, and accounted for (including costs, time-keeping, expenditures-to-date, etc.) and available for audit.
  • Schedule total project activities and tasks ensuring that all interaction and support activities are identified, ensure master schedule is maintained
  • Coordinates with various department (Purchasing, Fabrication, Paint, Assembly, Testing, and Service) to ensure project completion is per the project plan
  • Pending on the project scope; coordination of logistics and shipping documentation to be required
  • Preparation of financial documents, submission and tracking after equipment shipment could be required pending on project scope
  • Promotes effective communication with internal and external organizations and customers.
  • Participating in resolution for after service equipment situations/challenges including correspondence, shipping, tracking, arranging service calls, etc.
  • Interaction with customers through the design, assembly, and after sales processes; assisting to resolve project challenges and inquiries
  • Manage temporary import requirements such as equipment Schedule VII, RIV Program, E29B
  • Responsible to ensure a safe work environment for employees; work with the HSE Manager regarding complications and/or proposed improvements. Ensure any incidents are reported to HSE department immediately.
  • Approve employee timecards through Kronos time keeping system, ensuring accuracy of activities for those employees applicable. In addition utilize the Kronos for employee attendance evaluation.
  • Responsible to assist with recruiting, conduct evaluations/promotions, and disciplinary requirements of employees. Conduct training and coaching for employees in new work roles/tasks, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Responsible to organize and lead weekly production meetings; ensure coordination of project managers and sufficient information is being updated and shared appropriately. Update production meeting list with new entries and schedule changes.
  • Implement and execute operational controls, policies, and procedures; as appropriate to specific work tasks.
  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure department processes are compliant with the Quality Management System; work in accordance with QA Manager to improve processes throughout departments as required or viewed necessary. Ensure team is participating and submitting non-conformances to QA Manager in a timely
    manner. Work towards continuous improvement when seen necessary, utilizing ERP system and further development/customization practices.
  • Emergency Response; Activities related to responding to an emergency - examples include incident command positions, organizing evacuations, providing assistance such as first aid, notifying resource agencies, spill or gas release mitigation, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related field is an asset
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience and Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
  • A firm understanding of both computer hardware and software (including MS Office Excel, Word, MS
    Project, and Adobe)
  • Understanding of ERP system operation and function
  • Excellent communication skills, including problem resolution and motivational skills
  • Understanding of blueprints, machining, fabrication and raw material beneficial
  • Leadership and supervisory experience required
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments

    Training required after probationary period is met:
  • Standard training for job functioning will be address by Operations Manager
  • Specific training will be prescribed when required

HSE Requirements:

  • This position is mostly office environment, although shop, warehouse and working indoors/outdoors
    are likely. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases and changes of temperature/humidity
  • Possible physical requirements: squatting, bending, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, and working
    near moving equipment
  • Required to wear steel toe boots, safety glasses or side shields, hard hat, and ear protection in shop environment
