Operations include two manufacturing plants located in Edmonton and Customer Solution Centres located in Langley, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg.

We are currently recruiting for a Distribution Manager for our Edmonton Shipping department. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this individual will be a key player in the supply chain cycle. They are responsible for organizing and supervising the process of transporting and delivering products.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong knowledge and experience in fleet and logistic operations. They will bring strong decision-making abilities, top communication skills and be result focused. They must be able to be flexible, well organized, and highly dependable, confidently representing All Weather Windows, our products and our brand ensuring compliance within our fleet operations.

In this position, you will be responsible for...

  • Budget Management: Managing budgets and planning expenditures to ensure that costs are kept under control while still achieving business goals
  • Maintaining Carrier and Vendors Relationships: Maintaining relationships with carriers and vendors to secure competitive rates on products and services.
  • Managing Carriers: Managing carriers with carrier's scorecard to ensure carriers are delivering on agree upon services.
  • Negotiating with Carriers: Negotiating with carriers to obtain favorable terms on supplies & services (Service Level Agreement) needed by All Weather Windows.
  • Maintaining Fleet Assets: Maintaining fleet assets to ensure they are up to date with maintenance, inspections, license and certifications.
  • Managing Fleet Assets: Managing fleet with TBD software to track maintenance spend, determine assets replacement schedule and to ensure all fleet assets locations are known.
  • Manage suppliers' deliveries. Understanding of on time in full (OTIF) and how it impacts operations. Ability to request for price (RFP) and manage AWW's OTIF expectations on suppliers' deliveries.
  • Digital transformation of distribution network. Ability to source and deploy technology that aids' distribution operations. Including: transportation management software (TMS), dock scheduling, fleet management all-in-one software
  • Studying Market Data: Studying market data to ascertain the most efficient way to deliver goods to customers based on customer's demographics and sales patterns.
  • Creating Distribution Schedules: Creating distribution schedules and routes to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Management of Distributions Team: Distribution team consists of warehouse shippers, fleet drivers, fleet dispatcher and fleet scheduling team. Effectively coaching and talent developing the distribution team. Building succession planning and execute annual development plan with each team member.
  • Training Employees: Training employees about company policies and procedures for handling inventory, shipping orders, and other tasks.
  • Working With Others: Working with Health and Safety (H&S), Operations, Sales and Engineering departments to proactively solved issues.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure H&S programs are maintained and executed. Proactively solve H&S concerns and steer H&S from the front line.

Primary Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, logistics, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in either a logistics or distribution role
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Proven success in development and implementation of program improvements for cost-saving measures
  • Previous experience with logistics and transportation software.
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
