Environmental Field Staff (2 positions)


who can complete high quality field data collection, environmental assessment, and construction monitoring activities for Alberta Oil & Gas and Construction projects.

The Work:

  • Working in an environmental monitor / assessor role within a multi-discipline, virtual, team environment.
  • Primary tasks include wildlife sweeps, environmental site assessments, water quality monitoring, and fish salvages.
  • Environmental protection plans, Care of Water plans, Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control
  • Helping our clients maintain compliance with various Acts, Regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Primarily fieldwork with the potential to grow into others areas based on skills and abilities.
  • The fieldwork varies from construction sites to challenging forested field conditions and requires daily driving to an from site.

What you bring to the table:.

  • A love for being on the road and working in both natural and construction environments is essential.
  • Experience with ATVs, UTVs, pulling trailers and driving on oilfield roads.
  • Physically fit with the ability to walk long distances in challenging field conditions.
  • Ability to follow detailed data collection protocols and maintain high quality field notes.
  • A history of exemplary fieldwork and accountability to successful project results.
  • Ideally you have 3-5 years of similar field experience however we are willing train the right candidate.
  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in conservation biology, land reclamation, natural resource management or forestry
  • Highly safety conscious
  • Experience as a Crew Leader
  • Solid understanding of the industry and regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to liaise with clients and make professional in-field decisions.
  • Knowledge of construction practices.


The Workplace:


  • This is primarily a field-based position, which includes working in a virtual environment from your home office as well as 3-7 day field shifts, working in remote areas.
