About the Role

The Estimator reports directly to the Chief Estimator or Senior Estimator in our industrial group and will be responsible for performing all facets of an Civil/Earthworks estimate including quantities, costing and sub-trade analysis for presentation and final review of major items. This position may direct the work activities of other Estimators as required

As an Estimator at Graham you will:

  • Be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Bidding Process and taking the lead on some
  • Review project specifications and drawings to determine scopes of work, scheduling and project planning
  • Develop detailed knowledge of local labor conditions, equipment rates and subcontractor community
  • Prepare detailed estimates by calculating complete quantity take-off of all scopes of work ready for pricing
  • Price estimated quantities including plugging subcontracted scopes of work ready for Subcontract Bids and Analysis
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and Subcontractors
  • Share Graham's values about teamwork, safety, productivity and quality
  • Support continuous improvement through internal and external partnerships built on Graham's motto of Commitment, Integrity and Reliability

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Technical diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering or Geomatics is preferred. Equivalent work expereince wiill be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in surveying, civil construction, mining operations and engineering, or related field is an asset
  • Proficient with estimating and takeoff software, ineight estimates is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Trimble Software and AutoCAD is a plus
