Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will work in conjunction with all manufacturing departments in the repair and maintenance of all machinery.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage daily production by:
    • Work with department supervisors in scheduling machine maintenance
    • Manage and schedule maintenance requests and ensure proper documentation is recorded
    • Maintain an inventory of machine parts to help minimize equipment down time
    • Load and unload machines on/off trucks (new equipment arrival)
    • Coordinate machine installations and relocations
    • Review and investigate equipment condition prior to repair
    • Review personnel and resources
    • Implement cost reductions
    • Initiate and foster a team environment
  • Responsible for all equipment and tools, report problems and repairs required to maintain production, including recommendations and/or requirements to maintain and improve efficiency in the area
  • When required assist with plant security (e.g. secure building: question strangers, lock doors, activate alarm, lock gates, power off equipment)
  • Ensure a preventative plant maintenance (PPM) program is followed and documentation of the PPM is recorded
  • Work in conjunction with outside contractors to ensure work is completed in an accurate and timely manner to achieve desired results
  • Authorize the purchase of and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, supplies and consumables required for the proper functioning of machines and maintenance functions within predetermined guidelines
  • Assist machine operators to maintain production and minimize downtime
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment which can include lubrication, monitoring fluid levels and coolant concentrations
  • Perform other duties as required

Preferred applicants will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum five years maintenance or related experience with a minimum of three to five years supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with machinery including: CNC lathes, mills and conventional machines
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); working ability with current ERP computer software systems would be an asset
  • Ability to establish rapport and influence multiple distinct groups
  • Excellent leadership and team work skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
