Join us as the Supervisor, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), where you will lead the development and delivery of GIS solutions that significantly support the operational and project needs of ATCO Electric. This role is essential for overseeing the team that develops ESRI and FME products and managing spatial data management systems to enhance our business operations.

What You Get to Do:

  • Lead the GIS team to develop schedules, resource plans, and assignments to support GIS deliverables for capital projects.
  • Oversee the execution of GIS services, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of GIS products and services.
  • Monitor the performance and effectiveness of all GIS applications and databases.
  • Develop and facilitate training and knowledge transfer opportunities to enhance user competence and support business processes.
  • Present GIS processes to all end-user groups, ensuring alignment with client expectations and business needs.
  • Coordinate GIS services with various business units including Network Connectivity, Engineering, and Asset Management to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Lead the assessment, cataloging, and utilization of spatial data to enhance business intelligence and decision-making processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction, develop staff capabilities, and foster a team environment that encourages growth and excellence.

What you Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS systems, processes, and applications, including ESRI and FME products.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and projects, with excellent skills in mentoring and staff development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution within a GIS-focused role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is an asset.
