The District Manager, in Grande Prairie, Alberta is responsible for managing sales and operations, controlling expenses, reducing overtime, support towards HSE initiatives, managing budget and handling personnel issues for the Grande Prairie district. A role model and a leader for employees in this district, accountable to solve problems, make informed decisions and manage the workforce in a timely and efficient manner to achieve maximum outcomes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and coach managers and supervisors to meet the district's needs.
  • Supervision of employees in safety sensitive positions.
  • Oversee the execution of sales goals and operations objectives.
  • Review and provide support/feedback on the HSE program including review of critical HSE reporting documents, leadership on HSE improvements implemented by HSE specialist and HSE committees and involvement in annual HSE audit action plans for NOV Canada ULC.
  • Ensure compliance to all Tuboscope facility HSE rules and policies by Employees, Contractors and Visitors on site and to follow specific disciplinary procedures for situations of non-conformance.
  • Monitors budget and operating metrics while diagnosing and improving processes, procedures, and performance
  • Conducting periodic HSE and Operations performance reviews to ensure competency and to provide feedback to employees.
  • Advise management staff of budgetary goals and expectations for controlling expenses.
  • Review operational reports and records to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Help solve problems that impact the services, efficiently, health and safety and productivity of their areas of responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • College or university degree in business or related discipline considered an Asset.
  • 7-9 years' experience in a supervisory/management role, preferably in the oil and gas industry Preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Technical Requirements:

  • Basic Computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook

HSE Requirements:

  • Shop and yard tour including orientations on all specific work environments
  • Emergency Procedures (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, muster point) including all procedures for specific emergencies
  • Safe manual lifting practices (Max 50lbs)
  • Training on proper use, care and maintenance of all required and specialized PPE
  • WHMIS 2015/GHS training
  • Lock-out/Tag-out training
  • Review of all applicable safe work procedures and safe work practices.
  • HSE Leadership training - Online AASP course (Alberta Association of Safety Partnerships)
  • Incident Investigation training - Online AASP course (Alberta Association of Safety Partnerships)
