Field Operator
About this opportunity:
Reporting to facility plant leaders, this role requires a focus on safety, attention to detail, and strong process and troubleshooting skills. This role assists in plant operations, project management, turnaround work, new facility startups, training, planning and direction facility maintenance.
What you'll do:
Operate a plant area or unit in a safe, effective and productive manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team under supervision of a Lead Plant Operator (the Shift Engineer).
Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Cenovus guidelines.
Issue work requests, safe work permits, and perform equipment isolations.
Perform process & equipment condition monitoring including sampling, testing & analysis as per area responsibilities. Complete area operations records such as routine readings, volume balances, log sheets, required reports, P&ID updates, car seal audits, etc.
Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site's operating philosophy. Support on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Cenovus requirements, policies and procedures, while leading by example.
Develop and progress to personal performance to increasing Operator levels, including attaining necessary Power Engineer certification as required. Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required.
Participate in the development, review and revision of Safe Operating Procedures. Follow safe operating and chemical handling procedures and ensure environmental impact is minimized and assets are operated according to design.
Report all safety observations, near misses and incidents. Participate in hazard/risk assessments, safety meetings and incident investigations, as required.
Work with consultants to put in new equipment, turn arounds, other project management tasks
Who you are:
Minimum 5 years natural gas plant operating experience.
Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
Valid Class 5 driving license.
Valid H2S and First Aid tickets.
Work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and with asset contacts.
