We're looking for a Red Seal Electrician to join our largest sawmill, located in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
  • Use your broad electrical experience to do preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
  • Come up with innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Apply your organizational and planning skills to carry out maintenance projects and programs.
