Design Quality Engineer

• Develop engineering processes to manage customer requirements in the design, manufacture and assembly of the product, "right first time".
• Deploy and maintain the Industrial Validation Process (PVI) controls in conjunction with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain groups.
• Reduce Engineering Costs through improved design processes and controls, "design to manufacture".
• Provide data to Engineers to improve quality levels on difficult to manufacture designs
• Support Engineering to identify items to contribute to the ENQD (Events of Non-Quality in Development) database
• Assist the Director of Quality in implementing preventative processes in Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering groups.
• Utilize Lean sigma Tools to improve the development process
• Conducting Internal audits, all departments, for compliance to Safran procedures and regulations. May include other Safran sites
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) - collecting the data from Manufacturing
• Harmonizing Safran procedures, aerospace standards, and customer requirements to build consistent Program documents

• Mechanical Engineer preferred with strong Design/Manufacturing background
• Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience AS9145
• Has implemented, maintained and/or improved Advanced Process Quality
• Good understanding of design and machining/manufacturing methods
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills/aptitude 8D
• Strong Six Sigma / Lean Deployment and process improvement experience
• Working knowledge of ISO/AS standards, Lean Manufacturing
• Good understanding of aerospace regulatory requirements
• Multi-project management experience a plus
• Presentation, training, technical writing, communication and change management
