Our Woodlands Operations Supervisors play a critical role in ensuring a sustainable supply of timber to our mills. If you enjoy spending time in the forest, working alongside a team of top professionals in Forestry Management, read on to learn how you can make an impact!

We're looking for an experienced Woodlands Operations Supervisor to join our Northwest Regional Woodlands Team with offices located in High Prairie and Slave Lake, Alberta. Our Northwest Regional Woodlands Team operates Tolko's forest resources in northwestern Alberta, including timber harvesting, silviculture, forest management and log yard activities. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in forest harvesting operations.
  • Post-secondary education in Forestry.
  • Active Registered Professional Forester or Forest Technician designation.
  • Experience in managing projects and leading a team to success.
  • Ability to build relationships with local contractors, stakeholders and Indigenous Communities.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety while working in the field.
  • Self-directed time-management skills.

In this role you will:

  • Plan, develop and deliver harvesting plans while working within Tolko's Forest Stewardship Plan.
  • Manage quality control while working with other professionals including RPFs, RFTs, hydrologists and biologists.
  • Provide supervision of and oversee quality control for harvesting and hauling contractors.
  • Build relationships with First Nation partners and other stakeholders including tenure holders landowners, government, and communities.
  • Have the benefit of a flexible schedule working 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days in the field each week. You are empowered to manage priority initiatives and schedule your time accordingly.
