About This Role:
A Manager, Lean Canada is a senior transformation agent that can lead, coach and deploy the Lean program across DPW Canada Terminals bringing an extensive experience with not just implementing lean tools but also lean thinking, behaviors and principles

In this role, you will:

  • Play a key role in deploying and improving the Lean Program by leading change and mentoring regional partners and employees particularly around Daily Management and A3 project delivery
  • Work with and coach terminal management teams to ensure the program deployment and sustainability is successful
  • Conduct Lean Program training sessions in terminals and provide ongoing coaching to participants in association with BU Lean Champions
  • Understand, practice and commit to driving a kaizen culture and mindset with specific focus on the frontline workforce;
  • Promote the lean behaviours and a Problem Solving mindset particularly among people leaders
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of training material for trainings based on the LeanProgram, participant feedback and ongoing Lean maturity
  • Coach and train current BU DPW lean trainers on the Lean Academy and Lean program elements
  • Determining and managing regional trade offs for inclusion of regional priority goals into regional Lean deployment plans.
  • Should ensure business impacts and results are delivered through our Lean tools and rigour
  • Be a role model for Lean (maintaining work area with exemplary 5S, actively using visual management and problem solving methodology etc

What you bring to the role:

  • A degree in business, operational management, supply chain management, logistics or other related discipline.
  • Six Sigma certification is considered an asset.
  • Extensive use and expertise in Lean tools and culture
  • Solid experience with Lean the lean tools and fundamentals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships and achieve buy in and ownership to quality standards/ initiatives with all departments and levels.
  • Experience with working across different locations and cultures
  • Proven strong skills in influencing, training and coaching employees at all levels in an organisation as a trusted business partner
  • Ability to exercise leadership without authority
  • Be well respected throughout the organization and regarded as "someone people would like to learn from, listen to and work with"
  • Ability to be compassionate, helpful, sincere, friendly, and sensitive to needs while driving program objectives to completion
  • Be self motivated and always strive for excellence and exceeding expectations
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
