Job type: Permanent, full-time

Job Description:

  • Develop and prepare engineering designs and sketches by collecting field data for aerial and underground telecommunications such as heights, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics;
  • Use dimensions from PDF's and hard prints to calculate exact layout locations and be able to identify aerial and underground telecommunications outside plant.
  • Perform ESC (Erosion & Sediment Control) inspections in the lower mainland BC.
  • Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates to support the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects;
  • Operate CAD, Total Stations and RTK GPS equipment;
  • Write technical reports
  • Prepare contracts and tender documents

Job Requirements:

  • College program in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or in related field
  • BC-CESCL (Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead) required
  • Proficient with Total Stations and RTK GPS Equipment
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence with a clean abstract
  • Minimum of one-year experience
  • Availability to travel (up to 20 days per month)
  • Ability to weight handling up to 20 lbs (9kg)
  • Attention to detail

Work Conditions:

  • Mostly outdoors
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Extended amount of walking may be required
  • Weight handling up to 20lbs (9kg)

Work Location: various (province of British Columbia) as travel is required

Other information: Vehicle supplied by employer

Salary: $ 30/hour
