The Opportunity
McElhanney Ltd. is seeking a Kelowna-based Project Manager with demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong communication skills to join our diverse and growing Project Management Division. This position is well suited for a driven individual who is interested in project delivery for major infrastructure projects across BC and desires to be part of a growing team.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Working with multiple McElhanney clients, with an initial focus on BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI)
  • Facilitate the successful delivery of our client’s projects of varying scale and complexity
  • Lead project team meetings, and implement Project Management Plans
  • Mentoring and working with our assistant project managers, contract managers and administrators
  • Ensuring completion of quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Risk identification and analysis
  • Public consultation processes
  • Value Analysis and Value Engineering facilitating
  • Project Tracking, scope management, monthly reporting, monthly financial reporting, cost estimation, tender & contract document preparation
  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders on behalf of our clients using established engagement processes
  • Work with multiple consultants (design, environmental, etc.), client staff, interested parties, third-party utilities to achieve the project goals
  • Write effective proposals, liaise with existing and potential clients, and find opportunities to leverage our inter-disciplinary teams to provide value-added services
  • Short-term travel will be required from time to time

What You’ll Bring
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills; ability to build and manage relationships with numerous clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ownership of project tasks and maintaining the best interests of the client
  • Demonstrate a track record of maintaining satisfied clients and successfully delivering infrastructure projects
  • A degree or diploma in a related field, such as Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or other from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in project management. Experience working on highway infrastructure with government clients is a strong asset
  • SAVE International, IAP2, PMP or other PMI certification an asset
  • Advanced computer (Microsoft Office, MS Project, PowerPoint), technical writing and presentation skills
