As a Fleet and Rental Technician, you play an essential role in supporting the Fleet coordinator on the day-to-day operations of the fleet and rental department. You are integral in assisting with inventory management, property tracking and ensuring the fleet's and facility's overall functionality and cleanliness.



What you will be responsible for:


  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the fleet vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working
    condition.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure that all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Implement scheduled maintenance plans, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to extend
    the lifespan of the vehicles.
  • House keeping of shop and yard.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for vehicle maintenance and
    repair.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts replaced, repairs performed, and
    maintenance schedules.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by phone, email, and in person
  • Deliver trucks and equipment to worksites and vendors
  • Perform basic fleet maintenance (e.g. fluids, light bulbs, wiper blades, etc.)
  • Perform basic rental equipment maintenance

What we need from you:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license with clean record.
  • Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, especially with a fleet of vehicles.
  • Be comfortable driving long distances when needed.
  • Must be comfortable using mobile applications like Google Sheets, etc.

    processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.


Where/When you will be working:

  • 40 hour work week.
  • Possible shift work including evenings and weekends.
  • Working outside and in the warehouse/yard


The recruitment process for this role typically lasts 1 to 2 weeks and includes a phone interview, behavioural assessment and an in-person interview.
