What to Expect

The START Apprentice Technician Program is a 4-year comprehensive training, designed to provide the candidates with the skills necessary for a successful career with Tesla while earning their Red Seal Designation. During the program, candidates will develop technical expertise and earn certifications through a blended approach of in-class theory, team-based repair practices, hands-on labs and self-paced learning. This program will be providing all levels of provincially accredited technical training and on the job hours so after successful completion of the START program, the candidate will be expected to write and pass the Red Seal Examination and become a licensed Service Technician with Tesla.

What You'll Do

Learning and understanding of all Tesla vehicle products

Participate in team-based activities, both lab and lecture

Follow safety protocols at all times

Enhanced organization by keeping tooling organized

Complete weekly curriculum objectives

Maintain consistent and professional rapport with instructor

Demonstrate ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines

Pass Red Seal automotive exam not specific to Tesla vehicles

Minimum 40 hours a week dedicated to training and service center support

Maintain minimum 95% attendance percentage throughout the training period

What You'll Bring

Work experience in a related technology space (aeronautics, engines, electrical, ships, etc.)

Valid driver's license required

Must be capable of reporting to training location or local service center as needed

Ability to work weeknights and weekends

Ability to lift up to 60 pounds

Must follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail

Ability to work in a team-based environment and have a "safety first" attitude

Familiar understanding of the English language

Basic computer skills, including navigating web browsers and using standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
