Our Terrace Office is growing and is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our continued growth and achievement of our strategic objectives as consultants in the natural resource and renewable energy industries. Terrace offers a multitude of advantages such as a short commute, great work-life balance, endless year-round recreational opportunities for the adventurous, and you will be residing close to the ocean within the Kitimat Range of the Coast Mountains. Although Terrace is one of the smallest BBA offices, it offers great opportunities to work closely with colleagues from other offices, be exposed to project and business management and most of all, be exposed to multidisciplinary projects, from hydroelectric to mining and work hands-on to support our clients to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Terrace is a regional hub with the largest regional population base in the North-West part of the province and is the service, educational, medical, and transportation hub of the region. It can be easily accessed by road, ferry or by flight from major international carriers

• Work collaboratively with clients, project managers, engineers, designers and drafters in the preparation of deliverables to BBA and client standards
  
• Establish client needs, prepare or review reports, estimates, specifications, quotations and proposals
  
• Prepare and review design deliverables
  
• Perform calculations and studies
  
• Work with designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings to BBA and client standards
  
• Perform site inspections, testing and commissioning at client sites
  
• Create project scope of services, budgets and schedules

• Annual base salary between $84 000 - $115 000

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Electrical Engineering or Technician Degree, or similar
  
• 5 to12 years of relevant experience
  
• Eligible to register with EGBC as a P.Eng., if applicable
  
• A valid driver’s license
  
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents such as reports, specifications, studies, plans, and instructions
  
• Experience with design deliverables such as single line diagrams, layouts, elevations, material lists, cable and termination schedules, etc
  
• Experience preparing and reviewing project estimates
  
• Familiarity with IEEE Color Books, CEC and NEC
  
• Practical knowledge of HV & MV substations including site layouts, reactive equipment, switching equipment, grounding, shielding, power distribution and lighting
  
• Knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical equipment specifications, testing and commissioning
  
• Experience with projects in the mining, industrial, or utility sectors
  
• Ability to travel on short notice to customer sites and other BBA offices
  
• Experience in troubleshooting, commissioning and system installation
  
• Excellent communication skills with high competency in English (both spoken and written)
