THE ROLE:

In the rapidly expanding world of AI and HPC, solid system level firmware development, integration, and validation especially in the areas of SMC & BMC becomes paramount. The DCGPU team is looking for a SR Firmware Engineer with a passion for platform/system firmware. As part of the role, the lead will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers, architects and customer engineering teams in leading the development and implementation of firmware for AMD's Datacenter GPU Products.

As a member of the team, you are passionate about firmware development and quality with an ability to problem solve at a system level. You are self-motivated and thrives in a collaborative and fast paced environment. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

SKILLSET:
• Strong experience in embedded firmware development, including strong knowledge of embedded protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PCIe, etc.
• Strong experience in bare metal and OS -based embedded firmware development (RTOS, embedded Linux, Uboot)
• Strong knowledge of security and cryptography (CIA, Certificates, PKI, SHA, ECC, HMAC, AES…). Experience in security microarchitecture and design preferred.
• Experience with identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities in embedded systems. Familiarity with industry static and dynamic code analysis tools a strong plus.
• Able to read and interpret board schematics and data sheets.
• Familiarity with systems management of servers and its components in a data center environment
• Familiarity with Secure Boot, SPDM, Root of Trust, TCG DICE and NIST 800-193 a strong plus
• Experience with Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC), associated industry standard management protocols (Redfish, PLDM), Yocto and OpenBMC SW stack a strong plus
• Experience with AMD (Xilinx) FPGAs security features a plus
• Team player with strong communication skills, resourceful and able to work in a dynamic environment.
• Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
