We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Carpenter with expertise in rot repairs to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with specific experience in identifying, assessing, and repairing rot damage in building envelope components. As a Carpenter at New City Contracting, you will play a crucial role in preserving and enhancing the integrity of our construction projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections to identify rot damage in building envelope components, including siding, trim, windows, and doors
  • Assess the extent of rot damage and develop appropriate repair strategies and solutions
  • Perform carpentry repairs to replace and rebuild rotted wood components, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal
  • Use hand and power tools to remove and replace rotted materials, including framing, sheathing, and finish work
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to coordinate rot repair activities and meet project deadlines
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and carpentry tools and equipment


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Carpenter with a focus on rot repairs or similar carpentry work
  • Strong carpentry skills, including framing, finishing, and trim work
  • Knowledge of rot repair techniques, materials, and best practices
  • Ability to assess and diagnose rot damage accurately and develop effective repair solutions
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
