Your future role on our team

In joining our structural engineering team, your role will be to work with members of multidisciplinary teams (engineers, technicians, drafters, and others) on one or more projects. Your consulting engineering tasks will include carrying out studies, design and detailed engineering.

  • Help prepare engineering documents for the design of works for projects in the following sectors: industrial, mining and metals, renewable energy, oil and gas, environment and sustainable development
  • Design steel as well as concrete foundations and structures
  • Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical)
  • Prepare estimates, technical specifications and reports
  • Participate in quality control of the work carried out by technicians and drafters
  • Help prepare estimates, schedules and budgets, where required
  • Help plan, organize and evaluate work
  • Participate in supervising site work, where required
  • Carry out other technical duties to assist with projects
  • Maintain friendly, close relations with clients or their representatives

  • Annual base salary, based on 37.5 hours weekly, between $65 000 to $72 000

BBA considers many factors to determine the annual base salary such as, but no limited to: Location of the position, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant competencies.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Registered as an E.I.T. with EGBC
  • Previous exposure to designing steel and/or concrete structures
  • Experience and knowledge of structural analysis software
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Knowledge of work site supervision
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
  • Creativity and innovation in finding solutions
  • Availability for occasional travel to client sites
  • Asset: Experience with finite element analysis
  • Asset: Bilingual (English and French)
