What will you do?

The Production Coordinator involves overseeing the production scheduling process and ensuring efficient workflow within and between production departments. Working with the four main production departments, the Production Coordinator will ensure the production team has the most up-to-date information for their builds. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the other Office suite of products. Please note - this is a temporary role to cover a medical leave.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Generate, maintain, and communicate Production schedule based on annual capacity plan.
  • Manage and communicate weekly production schedules by department.
  • Manage job order cycle for production demands.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Generate, maintain Production Schedule:
    1. Schedule and coordinate flow of work within and between production departments.
    2. Manage departmental production schedules and job orders.
  • Manage customer order sign-off process.
  • Develop and distribute hull, sales and parts work orders to departments denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
    1. Monitor inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
    2. Monitor production of WIP parts orders and establish delivery dates for WIP parts orders communicating with Parts Manager.
  • Support Product Development to distribute information related to new prototypes and updates.
  • Regular maintenance of databases and excel sheets.
  • Generate various reports daily, weekly, monthly as required.
  • Responsible for document control within operations.
  • Facilitate internal department communication.
  • Other duties as requested.

What do you need to succeed?

  • On the job training is provided.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products is required.
  • Previous experience operating an ERP system is preferred.
  • Production experience is an asset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot errors.
  • High attention to detail is required to achieve quality standards.

Working Conditions

  • Regular periods during which there is continuous physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
  • Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort, high noise levels.
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing or seeing to work being performed.
  • Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists.

Schedule/Shifts

  • Day Shift - Monday to Thursday - 6:00 am to 3:30 pm; Friday 7:00 am to 11:00 am (training)
  • Post-Training - 40 hours/week flexible arrangements available; schedule to be agreed upon with supervisor.
