We’re looking for a Woodlands Operations Supervisor - Operational Planning to join our Cariboo Woodlands Division located in Williams Lake, British Columbia. The Cariboo Woodlands Team manages Tolko's and our partners tenure in the central interior of British Columbia covering an area of 2,054,626 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of related industry experience.
  • Post secondary education in Forestry.
  • Active Registered Professional Forester or Forester Technician designation.
  • Experience in managing projects and leading a team to success.
  • Possess a good understanding of forest management including planning, timber development, roads and timber harvesting.
  • Ability to build relationships with local contractors, stakeholders and Indigenous Communities.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety while working in the field.
  • Self-directed time-management skills.

In this role you will:

  • Focus on operational planning that meets mill volume requirements, allow efficient access to wood supply, and consider multi-stakeholder requirements consistent with Tolko’s Forest Stewardship Plan.
  • Manage quality control while working with other professionals including RPFs, RFTs, hydrologists and biologists.
  • Build relationships with First Nation partners and other stakeholders including tenure holders landowners, government, and communities.
  • Have the benefit of a flexible schedule working 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days in the field each week. You are empowered to manage priority initiatives and schedule your time accordingly.
