The Role:

A focal point for Egis's strategic growth lies in the Building Engineering market. Egis has made a name for itself throughout the world in part because of extensive building design capabilities and experience. Our established presence in many major cities in Canada, client contacts in the real estate market related to building facilities and other services, complemented by an extensive pool of international technical experts positions us perfectly to become a prominent player in the building design sector in North America.

We are actively seeking an experienced business leader with substantial North American building design and leadership experience, located in a major North American city, to spearhead this growth. In the role of Vice President, you will join a collaborative leadership team comprised of seasoned professionals, all deeply committed to ensuring your success. This presents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in Egis's growth, contributing to the exciting expansion of this service the region.

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes:

  • Extensive experience working in the building design space in North America.
  • Knowledge of the North American buildings market including private and public procurement practices. In particular, knowledge of the Industrial or Healthcare markets.
  • 20 years of experience in building design, business development and project delivery, with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong business development skills, including a current network of contacts.
  • Proven track record of growing business and a desire to do it again.
  • Strategic mindset, big picture thinker and solid problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Superior business and financial acumen.

Job Duties:

As Vice President, you will work closely with the senior leadership team and will be responsible for providing direct leadership, strategic direction and day-to-day management to the division. You will also be a key member of the strategic leadership team of the region and will work with the leadership team on the overall strategy and vision of the region.

The initial focus of this role will business development as we further establish ourselves as a leader in the building design space in North America.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Marketing/Business Development

  • Identify and secure building engineering clients in major North American cities.
  • Actively participate in the strategic development and pursuit of clients and projects.
  • Provide visible leadership with potential clients and existing clients.
  • Maintain regular dialogue with key clients.
  • Participate in the development and execution of key project and client presentations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, consultants and other business leaders.

Strategic Planning

  • Actively lead and support the execution of the strategic plan within the group and work with managers to develop and implement operational plans that ensure targets are being met.
  • As a member of the strategic leadership team for the region, contribute to the development of the strategic planning process.

Leadership

  • Lead and direct the divisional leadership and their teams.
  • Provide coaching and development to the managers.
  • Actively lead and support a positive, respectful and results oriented work environment and ensures consistency with core values.
  • As required, prepare and presents reports to internal stakeholders on areas that fall within the scope or mandate of the role.

Operational Management

  • Provide high level guidance and oversight in the preparation of proposals, development of work plans, schedules, budgets, fee proposal and negotiations. Work closely with the managers to monitor progress on all projects to ensure timeline and targets on being met.
  • Ensure quality processes are in place for all business units specific to their requirements.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee matters and monitors the completion of performance reviews for all employees within the group.
