What You'll Get To Do
Reporting directly to the Property Manager, the Carpenter is responsible for supporting and facilitating the planning and day-to-day management and coordination of all construction projects for Calm Air and EIC subsidiary companies. They will travel based on project requirements and will support the Property Manager in all other required functions and building projects as needed.

  • Supporting and actioning day-to-day management and coordination of assigned projects
  • Coordinating and tracking the status of all changes and updating project schedules
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates and provide summaries
  • Schedule and manage tasks/projects completed by external contractors as applicable
  • Review shop drawings, read plans/drawings, and create budgetary requirements for all scopes of work
  • Report to the Property Manager on any concerns regarding timelines or budgets with recommended course of action
  • Estimation of project material requirements
  • Structural framing including wood and steel components
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis within the department
  • Ensure compliance with all internal safety standards
  • Will act as liaison between third party contractors as required
  • Operate within and maintain use of CMMS program
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience We Value

  • 2-5 years construction experience required
  • Red seal preferred but not necessary
  • Working knowledge of facilities and maintenance equipment, drawings, specifications, building material and their installation, and building code standards
  • Experience with permit applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while planning and managing numerous project schedules
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Extensive travel is a requirement of this position
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC)
  • Inuktitut language considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
