Essential Responsibilities:

•Machine Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate various machines, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other conventional machining tools.

•Material Preparation: Choose and prepare raw materials according to specified dimensions and quality standards.

•Machining Operations: Operate conventional machining equipment for tasks like turning, milling, drilling, and grinding. Adjust machine settings to ensure precision and accuracy.

•Quality Control: Inspect finished parts with precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges). Address any deviations to maintain quality standards.

•Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve machine, tool, or material issues. Perform routine machine maintenance for optimal performance.

•Documentation: Keep accurate records of machining processes, tool changes, measurements, and production outputs.

•Safety and Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and industry standards to maintain a safe work environment.

•Collaboration: Work with engineering and production teams to refine designs, optimize processes, and adhere to production schedules.

Education, Skills & Experience:

•Proficiency in Engineering Drawings: Proficiency at reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

•Diverse Material and Tool Knowledge: Familiar with a wide range of materials, tools, and machining techniques.

•Independent and Team Work: Capable of working both independently and as an integral part of a team.

•Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

•Safety and Standards Compliance: Knowledgeable about safety protocols and committed to adhering to industry standards.

•Physical Capability: Possesses physical stamina and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials as needed.

Other Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, able to follow verbal and written instructions

Fluent in English (must be able to speak, read and write in English)

Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy materials when necessary.

Able to stand for long periods of time, including bending and lifting

Willingness to work overtime when required

Mature, responsible, career-minded, with a high performing work attitude

A team player, committed to working in a quality environment, who can also work independently when required

Must be eligible to meet the requirements and security regulations of The Canadian Controlled Goods Program
