Support the WSTP as an integral player by:
Managing, directing and implementing the warranty management objectives as a service for the City of Winnipeg Engineering Division to ensure achievement of project goals.
Short term goals are ensuring an acceptable response time for the correction of warranty defects to reduce risk of compliance failure.
Long term goals are the formulation, planning and implementation of strategies in conjunction with those the Client to optimize the warranty management process.
Promote and support best warranty management practices, including reporting on performance against goals/estimates, maintaining records of work completed for asset history and keeping stakeholders informed of status.
Ensure all warranty claims are properly documented. Support City operations to understand where issues can be appropriately resolved through warranty.
Follow the progress of individual warranty claims and resolve technical and contractual issues to keep warranty claims progressing.
Actively participates in a leadership role and in implementation of new processes and systems technology to meet the unit objectives.
Assist the Client to ensure warranty information and requirements are captured in maintenance systems.
Review equipment failure reports and corrective work orders for warranty claims oppurtunities and be a single point of contact for warranty issues in Waste Water Services (WWS)
Establish internal processed for warranty claim management from implementation through the process of final acceptance.
Ensure deficiencies with potential for warranty claims are properly documented, coordinate communication and action on warranty claims between the Client and its suppilers.
Project manage assignments to consultants for failure investigations and provide contract administration services.
Prepare readiness scope documents as well as update the readiness schedule based on Contractor schedule.
Provide quality assurance on processes developed by the contractor in relation to Delivery, Material Handling, Storage, Maintenance and handover of Spare Parts/Speciality Tools.
Assist with day to day contract administration duties as required.

Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
Capable to play a central role in coordinating and integrating progress across internal and external program team member
Process improvement and re-engineering, balancing efficiency and effectiveness
Must have the capability to conduct analyses on complex data sets
Must demonstrate ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
Must have the ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work effectively with interruptions. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to independently compose routine written communications and technical reports
Working knowledge of Computized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Must have previous experience with engineering or construction project management processes including good knowledge of earned value calculation and scheduling of design activities, design documents cycle
Must have previous experience with Project Management and business process quality control.
Experience in leading technical investigations of complex equipment
Knowledge of Contract Law in relation to warranties
Knowledge of operational processes or past role in an operating plant environment
