As an Area Contact Engineer (ACE) you will prepare basic plans, calculations, and designs for our processes and units. Your goal will be to collect data and conduct studies and surveys on our equipment and our processes. You will also investigate and analyze operational issues and opportunities in order to recommend solutions. You will have the opportunity to work in the refinery to perform refinery technician duties as required to learn about refinery processes and business lines.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strive to be recognized as a key support individual for technical aspects of assigned area units.

  • Maintain and communicate Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) and monitor compliance.

  • Establish unit performance continuity between the shifts through routine communication and mentoring.

  • Provide technical input and troubleshooting specific to your area of responsibility.

  • Maintain unit operating limits and equipment data sheets (e.g., DCS alarms, meter calibrations, target sheets).

  • Provide technical support for minor outages and refinery turnarounds. This includes worklist development, utility/material balances, unit shutdown/start-up support, equipment inspection and condition report generation, equipment head-up sign off.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work well with others.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Solid knowledge of common engineering concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Previous experience such as work terms or summer experience in an engineering role within an industrial environment would be considered an asset.
