The organization utilizes many Microsoft platforms, has an Oracle EnterpriseOne ERP as its core transaction system, operates several CAD systems, several Business Intelligence tools and maintains many businesses specific software applications.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operating Technology Administrator to join our team. As an Operating Technology (OT) Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our operating technology infrastructure and software. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing our industrial control systems and the software that interfaces with these systems. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of industrial automation, control systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity measures. The role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the smooth operation and security of our organization's technology assets. The Operating Technology Administrator can be based out of our head office in Saint John, NB, or in Woodstock, ON, supporting our new, technologically innovative facility.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain OT and industrial control systems and software to ensure seamless integration with the manufacturing process, optimal performance, security, and reliability
  • Oversee and manage OT specific network components, ensuring connectivity, and troubleshooting network issues
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement changes and updates to control system configurations
  • Collaborate with IT shared services team to optimize the performance of the operating technology infrastructure and resolve escalated technical problems
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize control system settings, improve efficiency, and ensure smooth production processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to industrial controls impacting manufacturing operations
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect operating technology assets from cyber threats
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations pertaining to operating technology security
  • Develop and execute patch management strategies to keep operating systems and associated software up to date
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and address identified vulnerabilities promptly
  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing OT related issues and ensuring a seamless user experience
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of operating technology configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance status

Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Industrial Controls Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience within the field of IT or Industrial Systems
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and the integration of control systems within production environments
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other industrial control components
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity principles, and best practices
