As a Senior Analyst - Refinery Capital Portfolio, you will be responsible for the development and preparation of the stakeholder capital spend reports as well as supporting the Capital Portfolio Manager in the development of the annual and 5-year capital business plan. In conjunction with the Capital Portfolio Manager, the role manages and updates departmental policies, standards and procedures in alignment with corporate documentation standards. The typical annual portfolio executed in the Refining Value Centre consists of up to 200 projects and a five-year plan of over 1000 projects (major/complex and sustaining).

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical support, preparation and distribution of monthly and quarterly capital spend reports; KPI's and forecasting graphs.

  • For all IOR Capital Projects, this involves using the Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management system (OPPM) and the Oracle Projects Costing module to validate actual capital spend and working with stakeholders (project managers, project controls, area manager etc…) to obtain and update current project level forecasts and variance analysis.

  • Consult stakeholders to ensure they receive an up-to-date and accurate explanation of the capital program

  • Support the Capital Portfolio Manager in the preparation of the Saint John Refining Capital annual budget and 5-year capital business plan.

  • Manage and perform any required updates to departmental policies, standards and procedures standards in accordance with Irving Oil documentation standards (Documentum). This includes adhering to Management of Change (MOC) guidelines.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.

  • Must have a demonstrated aptitude of working with significant quantities of data and a high level of experience working with MS Excel. Good working knowledge of databases is an asset

  • Five plus years of experience in Finance or Engineering

  • Capital budgeting experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the Oracle Projects Costing and Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management would be an asset as well as knowledge of the Refining & Supply value centres
