Description

By joining our team in Labrador City, you will be called upon to contribute to the various stages of project, from the Proposal stage to supervision of the installation and the commissioning of mechanical equipment related to pumping, dust control and ventilation, for various industrial process applications such as water, tailings and sludge pumping, mine dewatering, cooling/heating networks, fuel pumping, wet and/or dry dust control systems and ventilation.

Due to our strategic positioning of proximity to our heavy industrial clients, the incumbent will have the opportunity to choose a permanent position or a temporary assignment (at least 2 years) in the Labrador City office followed by a return to our offices located in major centers such as Montreal. In addition, you will benefit from BBA's network of recognized experts to support you in the realization of your mandates and to promote your professional development.

More specifically, in joining our team, you’ll be asked to:

  • Assume the role of project leader.
  • Be responsible for business relations and the quality of professional services.
  • Lead the preparation and help draft proposals.
  • Share your technical knowledge with young engineers and technicians on the team to prepare the next generation of technical professionals.
  • Participate in designing plans, specifications and details based on guidelines from a senior engineer.
  • Lead and represent the field of expertise to various clients and stakeholders.
  • Produce technical data sheets.
  • Participate in the commissioning of systems.
  • Support onsite construction work.
  • Make recommendations on establishing standards and on practical applications.
  • Assign tasks to less experienced engineers and technicians as well as support staff, and revise their work.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Member of a Canadian professional Associations (OIQ, PENGL, etc.)
  • More than 3 years of experience
  • Experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial or mining sectors
  • Good knowledge of one or more of the following fields: pumping, piping, stress analysis, dust collection, conveyors and other mining process equipment
  • Relevant field experience and proactivity in health and safety
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite and other applications, databases and interfaces
  • Relevant experience in project management, cost estimates, drafting technical reports and troubleshooting
  • Important Asset : Bilingual (English and French) both spoken and written
  • Asset: Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, AFT Fathom, Ansys and MS Office
  • Asset: ASP Construction card
  • Asset: Experience with multidisciplinary work (civil, electrical and automation)
