We are looking for a Superintendent - Mine Planning to join the Mine Technical services team and oversee all Mine Planning activities and a team of 15-20 Mine Planners. The role is responsible for various production schedules and planning processes (mining equipment fleet, rehabilitation, and closure, etc.) Accountabilities will also include reconciliation process, infrastructure, pit optimization and design.

Reporting to the Manager, Mine Technical Services you will be responsible for:

  • Fostering a safe work environment within the mine planning team
  • Fostering inclusion and diversity with the mine planning team
  • Developing and mentoring an engaged and empowered mine planning workforce
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure timely access to input data for mine planning tasks and timely production of deliverables
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and regulatory health, safety, environment and community requirements
  • Ensuring appropriate governance systems are in place to meet internal and external obligations

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of eight years open pit mine planning experience

Preferred:

  • Experience leading a team of mining professionals
  • Operational experience
  • Canadian Professional Engineer status, or the ability to obtain it
  • Project Management experience
