We are currently seeking a Maintenance Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team in St. John's, NL.


Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality and Safety, the Maintenance Quality Assurance Coordinator supports the effectiveness and continued improvement of the maintenance organization's quality and safety management system.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Managers and Supervisors in the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) to ensure risk analysis, investigation, root cause and corrective action for all SMS reports and audit findings are implemented in the assigned timeline.
  • Validate reports to ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor quality, safety and operational objectives and goals and provide feedback to Management. Support the Quality Lead in review of audit findings for trend analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining audit checklists for all functions and elements of the maintenance organization.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections encompassing all functions and elements necessary to confirm that the AMO is in compliance with regulations, relevant standards and approved manuals.
  • Conduct external audits of third parties including, but not limited to, maintenance arrangements and vendors.
  • Participate in accident, incident, and hazard investigations, if required.
  • Actively participate in PAL's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years' experience in aircraft maintenance operations.
  • General knowledge of Transport Canada Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Safety Management Systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to interpret requirements and apply to process auditing.
  • Ability to use computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, Safety Culture, etc.
  • Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and effective time management skills.
