We are currently look for a Logistics Analyst to join Emera Energy’s Logistics team.  Emera Energy’s Logistics Team is an integral part of its Gas Trading and Marketing business.  Logistics is responsible for scheduling the movement of natural gas to and from Emera Energy’s suppliers and customers, across a complex pipeline network, in the most commercially effective manner.   As a Logistics Analyst, you will provide back-up and support to the logistics team while gaining in depth experience relating to gas operations for Emera Energy. Occasional need for afterhours support is required. 

Key elements of this role include:

  • Maintain reporting requirements for the Logistics team;
  • Customer meter allocations and imbalance reporting for Maritimes Canada customers;
  • Scheduling and optimizing the flow of gas on a number of smaller volume pipelines supporting each of the scheduling teams and reconciliation of these flows in the company’s enterprise risk management system;
  • Reconciliation of complex deals within the company’s enterprise risk management system to ensure daily and monthly calls tie out across multiple locations;
  • Daily reconciliation of border crossing flows across pipelines to ensure flows are captured accurately in the company’s enterprise risk management system;
  • Coordinate capacity releases between the Logistics and Commercial Services teams at Emera Energy;
  • Creating robust process documentation for all tasks associated with the role and streamlining processes where applicable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience is essential;

  • Strong communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with customers and service providers;

  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the capacity for independent decision making;

  • The ability to manage several different tasks simultaneously and to work under multiple hourly deadlines, and flexibility on the job;

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and be comfortable creating and analyzing spreadsheets with greater excel function capability being a strong asset;

  • Knowledge of the gas and power markets would be an asset.
