We are looking for a Director, Environmental Services to join Nova Scotia Power’s HSE & Mi’kmaq Relations team. Reporting to the Vice President, HSE & Mi’kmaq Relations, you will be responsible for:
With a passion for collaboration and for supporting the success of team members and other Nova Scotians:
Lead the Environmental Services team and the administration of the NS Power Environmental Management System (EMS), including the development and implementation of emerging environmental policies.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements and conformance with the Emera EMS Standard.
Accountable for environmental performance reporting across all aspects of NS Power operations.
Work with provincial and federal environmental regulators in support of NS Power’s operations and programs and to develop and maintain key relationships.
Provide guidance and support for environmental permitting, compliance monitoring, as well as risk identification and mitigation.
Anticipate and communicate impact of emerging environmental regulations and policy on operations of the Company.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
As the ideal candidate you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and possess or are working towards the desired skills and experience listed below:
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
You are an innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management.
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines, exceptional prioritization, and organizational skills.
