Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Procurement Specialist.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

· Education: Academically qualified with a recognized university bachelor's degree in relevant field

o Procurement/Supply Chain accreditation: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM would be considered an asset.

o Project Management experience/accreditation: PMP would be considered an asset.

o Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

· Experience: 3 Years or more experience in a procurement, supply chain, project management, engineering, or other relevant function

· Defence experience with a proven commercial or legal skillset would be considered an asset.

· Procurement/Supply Chain accreditation: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM would be considered an asset.

· Project Management experience/accreditation: PMP would be considered an asset.

· Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

· Program wide stakeholder engagement to identify requirements.

o Strategic planning and deployment of Supplier Qualification (RFI), tender process, RFI, RFP, RFP with vendors, Tender evaluations, Contract negotiation and to agree robust commercial agreements for ISI and the client. Communications to industry on all contract steps is also a key strategic deployment for this position.

· Supply Chain Strategy management including:

o Develop and improve supply chain quality, cost, and delivery performance.

o Attend integrated stakeholder sessions representing supply chain priorities.

o Participate in pre scope kick off meetings with key stakeholders.

o Lead key supply chain projects

o Participation in performance reviews with procurement

o Maintain risk log and hold bi-weekly meetings with procurement team.

o Understand Subcontractor contractual obligations and ensure adherence.

o Develop key strategies such as supply chain management plan, implementation proposals, cost estimates, warehousing strategy, and other key components of supply chain plans.

· Contracting strategy management including:

o Development of sourcing documents, process, and updates

o Integrated sourcing strategy development including:

o Develop and implement category sourcing strategies.

o Analyze market conditions (ex: pricing, availability, lead-time, and capacity)

o Creating documents to support customer and programmatic briefings.

· Continuous improvement including:

o Support new product introduction activities.

o Apply the principles of continuous improvement to the design and development of supply chain processes.

o Undertake cost analysis for integrated sourcing initiatives.
